Vitamins

While vitamins are necessary for a properly functioning body, they are another area where people form two distinct camps of thought:  some people claim that megadosing certain vitamins (such as vitamin C) can help you get over a cold faster, while other people say that it has no effect.

There have been studies done in which the high-dose vitamin C group recovered faster, and other studies in which there was no difference.

And even anecdotally, some people claim they recover in a day or two while taking high doses of vitamin C, and other people claim that it doesn’t help them at all.

So this is another area where you should do your own research, and don’t believe in certain products just because someone says it will heal you faster.  High doses of vitamin C can have also have side effects, such as intestinal discomfort.
