Tea

Various forms of tea have been used over the centuries to help maintain health.  Green tea, for example, is known to contain antioxidants which can help prevent illnesses.

There are other teas that can be used specifically to treat sore throats, and they may include honey, licorice, marshmallow, lemon, or other flavors.  You may also see teas that have been fortified with vitamins for an extra immune system boost.

Tea should be sipped over time rather than drunk quickly.  The vapors coming from it may also help clear the sinuses which may provide some additional relief.  Drinking tea can also be relaxing, which can help you feel better when you’re annoyed from being sick.

It is worth shopping around, as certain teas are made specifically for sore throats.
